  • Ph.D. student Alfred Chong Yung Fu was awarded the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Electron Devices Society Graduate Student Fellowship for 2002. See:

  • Former MSc student Ms Ghim-Wei Ho has won the photo competition held at the Department of Engineering, University of Cambridge in 2004. Ghim Wei is now a PhD student working for Professor Mark Welland, at the Cambridge Nanoscience Centre.

  • Ph.D. student Chung Hong Jing was awarded the Graduate Researcher Award 2006, Faculty of Science NUS.

  • Two Raffles Institution students, Khoo Seng Teck and Teo Cal-vin, supervised by Prof A Wee and Dr Wang Li won a Silver Medal at the 2007 Singapore Science & Engineering Fair (SSEF). Their project was entitled “Near-edge X-ray Absorption Fine Structure (NEXAFS) investigation of X-ray irradiation damage to oligonucleotides”.

  • PhD student Zheng Yi won the ^ Silver medal at the second Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited (TSMC) research competition 2007. His submitted project was entitled: “Electrical Characterization of Metal HfO2-SiO2-Si MOS Structures by Ballistic Electron Emission Spectroscopy”
