CONTINUING MASTER’S STUDY PROGRAMME (for students in the 4th year of study)

General information

  1. During the Continuing Master’s Study Programme, every student has to pass the B1 level exam in English, level intermediate, exam code: BY51.

  2. In the case that the student has already passed the exam during the Bachelor’s Study Programme, all requirements for foreign language exams for the Continuing Master’s Study Programme are fulfilled.

  3. The faculty provides students in the Master’s Study Programme with two free semesters. After exploiting them, students can attend the courses only as self-financing students, i.e. by paying 1200 Kč for each semester. Free semesters unused during the Bachelor’s Study Programme may not be transferred to the Master’s Study Programme.

  4. In the case that the student has only passed the BY01 exam during his/her previous study, he/she may attend courses BYA5 and BYA6 as a self-financing student.

  5. The result of the BY51 exam will be taken into account in the entrance test for the Lifelong Learning Programme (previously Socrates/Erasmus).

  6. All courses leading to the exams are elective subjects; it is therefore not necessary to obtain a credit for them. Students may register for the exam without having the credit from any course.

  7. Students can register in courses of any level.

  8. After passing the BY51 exam, students are offered the opportunity to enrich their knowledge of English in more advanced courses or they might study other languages.

Registration and enrolment:

When adding subjects and exams to your registration sheet you have to click for as long as you find the level you are looking for. The English courses offered are divided into semesters only for formal reasons. The system used for compulsory subjects does not work for English courses because each student’s level of English is different, independent of the year of study.

To be able to enrol in the exam, the student must have the exam registered in his/her registration sheet.

To be able to enrol in a subject, the student needn’t have it registered in his/her registration sheet.

Credits:

According to the Directive of the Dean of the Faculty No. 4/2008 there are no credits for the courses BYA1-BYA6. The students receive the credits retroactively after passing the exam, even if they have not attended any courses. That’s why there won’t be any terms for credit tests (except for BYA4 and BYA6 courses, the results of which can be counted as a part of the exam. There are no credits for these courses, either.)
